Our Lead Attorney

Attorney Violet Dersahakian is the founder and lead attorney of Progress Law Firm, APLC, a full-service firm focusing on personal injury and estate planning cases throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Progress Law Firm also handles immigration cases nationwide. 

Violet is passionate about helping people, bringing her professional and personal experiences to helping others when they are most vulnerable. 


"I always wanted to be an attorney and help people. My passion is to assist everyone and see happy eyes and faces. Justice is a challenging goal because, at the end of the day, someone always suffers. However, I do believe in fair outcomes and work hard to help clients achieve a just resolution."

Ms. Dersahakian is fluent in Russian, Armenian, and English. She is also conversationally fluent in Farsi. An immigrant herself, she came to the United States in 2002 not speaking a word of English. Since then, Violet has worked her way up from the bottom. She first earned an associate degree, a paralegal diploma and license, a bachelor's degree, and finally a law degree. She's now pursuing an advanced legal degree in taxation to offer her clients a wider range of legal advice. 

Before heading to law school, Violet worked for the King County Public Defender's Office, giving her broad insight into the challenges defendants face in criminal trials. While in law school, she worked for the LA County District Attorney's Office. Violet's work with both prosecutors and public defenders, combined with her past experience in customer service and client management, gives her unique insight into the importance of client relationships. As a result, Violet and the professionals at the Progress Law Firm work hard to ensure that they handle every case with empathy, sincerity, and responsiveness.

Education

Ms. Dersahakian holds a law degree from Trinity Law School and received her undergraduate degree in law and justice from Central Washington University.

Ms. Dersahakian also holds a Paralegal Diploma and License and an Associate of Science Degree in Social Science. She is admitted to the California State Bar.
